I have been part of Catholic Charities caregivers Support Services since 1990.  Through my experience I have built a strong working relationship with provider agencies that help us to successfully meet the respite needs of family care givers. You can reach me Wednesday through Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  While supporting the Executive Director in operational functions I also handle case management, client intakes, and share on-call support for the after hours and emergency response portion of the eldercare respite program.  Our agency is dedicated to ensuring that the services we offer meet the needs of the families we serve.  As part of my duties I oversee that each client has the opportunity to complete a satisfaction survey and that our work is in compliance with applicable quality assurance standards.

I have had the pleasure of working at Catholic Charities Caregivers Support Services since the fall 2005. I was able to take a leave of absence for a period of time to earn a Master’s Degree in Social Welfare from the University at Albany. I am also a graduate of the Hartford Internship in Aging Program at UALBANY specializing in Geriatric Social Work. My work requires me to provide oversight to the whole program but additionally I facilitate caregiver support groups and provide some telephone support for people who are caring for their aging loving ones. I am in the office Mondays through Thursdays 9-5.

I joined the Catholic Charities family in 2004 and came to the Kinship Caregiving Program in 2010.  I facilitate support groups in Albany and Rensselaer Counties and provide telephone support and referrals to families raising their relative’s children.  Some examples of this are grandparents raising grandchildren and aunts and uncles raising nieces and nephews. The goal of the program is to stabilize families, by helping caregivers and the children they are raising.  The program offers encouragement, educational information, and emotional support for caregivers.  I am in the office full-time, five days a week.
